This 'game-changer' Amazon neck and shoulder massager is on sale for $50 for Prime Day — here's my honest review

My suggestion? Pick up this Shiatsu Neck and Shoulder Massager while it's on sale for Prime Day 2024 — you won't regret it.

For as long as I can remember, I've had aches and pains in various parts of my body that have made me run to my masseuse every other month. Although the cause might be different each time — a long-haul flight, a not-so-ergonomic work-from-home setup, or just sleeping on my neck funny — the result is always the same: a pricey bill from my RMT.

During last year's Amazon Prime Day sale, I finally said enough is enough and bought an at-home Shiatsu Neck and Shoulder Massager in hopes of cutting back on how much money I spend on massages. As luck would have it, it's on sale again (45 per cent off) for Prime Day 2024 — but is this deal worth shopping? Read on for my honest review.

I have neck and back pain all the time, so I tried this at-home Shiatsu Neck and Shoulder Massager.

This Shiatsu Neck and Shoulder Massager is a wearable device that simulates the techniques of a traditional Shiatsu massage. It has eight massage nodes that reach deep into your back and neck and work out simple kinks or knots from the comfort of your home.

The nodes can change direction and speed, and the massager also heats up, offering a soothing effect on your muscles. You can customize all of these settings by adjusting the control panel located on the left side of the device.

This massager is fairly intuitive to use. Start by plugging the cord into an electrical outlet or AC adapter, sling the device over your shoulders and select your preferred direction and speed.

This is a wearable device, so to control the pressure of the massage nods, simply pull the arm straps downwards as firmly as you’d like, and the force exerted will create pressure on your shoulders or neck.

When you’re done, dismount from your shoulders and unplug it. It shuts off automatically after 15 minutes to prevent overheating.

I really enjoy how this feels! I am someone who struggles to speak up when my masseuse is going a bit too hard during a massage, so I appreciate being able to control the pressure myself.

The massage nodes really only move in a couple of different directions, but honestly, there isn’t really a need for more than that. Does it feel exactly like real hands giving you a massage? No, but it still gets the job done and is able to work out simple knots and kinks and provide relaxation.

The heat function is also an added bonus; it helps soothe any aggravated muscles and adds a nice, cozy feeling. If you’re looking for immediate relief, this device can get the job done.

If you are like me and often wake up with a kink in your neck or a weird pain in your back and don't have the time or money to be constantly running to the masseuse, I'd say this is a worthy investment — especially at its Prime Day 2024 price.

I find myself reaching for my massager every few weeks to work out small knots or kinks. If you’re an athlete or someone with a very active job, being able to come home after a long day and pop this massager on while you’re watching TV is a game-changer.

Even if you don’t often suffer from sore muscles, this is a great gadget to add to your self-care routine when you’re looking for an extra pick-me-up. My only complaint is that I wish it were cordless, but because it is half the price of a regular massage, I’m willing to look past that.
