With the novel-coronavirus preventing celebrities from having access to their glam squads, some of our favourite stars are learning to embrace their greys during quarantine.
Tia Mowry-Hardict and Tamera Mowry-Housely are leading the charge in showing off their natural beauty on social media, sans make-up, filters and hair-dye. The 41-year-old “Sister, Sister” stars each took to Instagram to share a fresh-faced selfie as well as show off their grey roots.

On March 21, Mowry-Housely shared a photo of herself at home during quarantine showing off silver flecks in her braided hair.
“Hello greys,” the Daytime Emmy Award winning host of “The Real” captioned the post. “Not getting my hair done during social distancing, and I’m OK with it!”
Last week, the star’s twin, Mowry-Hardict shared a similar photo to her more than 7.5 million followers on Instagram, ditching her make-up in favour of her freckles and natural hair.
“It’s been me and my ‘fro as of late,” Mowry-Hardict wrote, including the hashtags “#natural #hair #curlyhair #nofilter #nomakeup #me.”
The “Family Reunion” star was praised by followers for choosing not to chemically treat, dye or cover her hair, opting instead to share her natural curls with millions.
“Our natural hair is so beautiful,” a female follower wrote. “Society tricked us into relaxing.”
“Love your ‘fro!” another told the star. “Simply gorgeous.”

The Mowry twins aren’t the only famous faces to show off their roots. Kelly Ripa has been chronicling her quarantine re-growth by uploading “Root Watch” photos on Instagram.
The 49-year-old shared her self-distancing beauty tips with “Live with Kelly and Ryan” co-host Ryan Seacrest during a remote taping of their daytime show.
“I've been spraying my roots. At this point it's all spray because my hair is all grey,” Ripa said, via a videoconference call from her home in New York City. The former soap star told Seacrest that her 18-year-old daughter, Lola Consuelos, had been in charge of her glam routine, pulling inspiration from some unlikely places.

“My daughter learned how to do my hair using the tie of your bathrobe,” she said. “She watched a TikTok video on how to do hair by wrapping your hair around the bathrobe tie. And my daughter did my hair!”
Regrowth isn’t just effecting female stars. Comedian Kevin Hart took to social media to reveal to his more than 89 million followers on Instagram that he was learning to love his greys.
“I'm not gonna lie to y’all, I’m kinda rollin’ with the grey hair,” Hart told fans on March 25. “I’m feeling it, man. I ain’t never not been working for this long, so I never had a chance to let it grow like this...Grey hair in the beard? Grey hair up top, on the sides? ... Giving you full ‘distinguished gentleman’ out here, man. Embrace it, don’t run from it!”
