These two fun-filled young dogs at Shawnee shelter are friendly, loving and cuddly

Mala

Breed: Pit bull terrier mix

Age: 3 years old

Mala is probably the happiest girl you’ll ever meet. She’s an active girl who loves to play with her best friend, Bob. She loves toys and bones, and she’s very smart. She says if her foster mom weren’t so lazy, she’d probably know more than the basic commands. She even taught her buddy, Bob, how to sit. Foster mom was struggling to teach him so she took over.

Mala loves people — a lot. Sometimes she forgets that she’s not supposed to jump up and give them kisses on the face. But in her defense, who doesn’t want to know they are loved? She’s learned to coexist with the felines in her foster home. She does have a dominant personality, so she’d love to make friends with a more submissive dog. She’d also be a great only dog.

She’s pretty athletic so whatever fun things you want to do, like walking or running, she’d be up for. She also really loves snuggles and naps on the couch. Play hard and relax often is her motto.
