Vet voices concerns as Dolce and Gabbana launches bizarre dog perfume

A veterinarian has voiced concerns at Dolce and Gabbana’s new alcohol-free perfume for dogs called ‘Fefé’ in honour of Domenico Dolce’s poodle.

The €99 (£81) fragrance has been deemed suitable for animals because it follows the Italian ‘Safe Pet Cosmetics’ protocol, designed to ensure a degree of safety of cosmetic products for animals comparable to that required for humans.

Some vets approve of the product, according to the official website page dedicated to ‘Fefé’, but not all of them agree on its use for dogs as it may interfere with their sense of smell and cover up bad odours that could be a symptom of diseases.
