Why Christine Quinn Quit the New Season of 'Selling Sunset'
By now, you've likely seen a few episodes of completely binged the sixth season of Selling Sunset and fallen in love with Chrishell Strause and G Flip's mega-cute 'ship, somehow gotten baby fever because of how happy Heather Rae El Moussa is about her pregnancy, and picked up on the fact that Christine Quinn is noticeably absent from all the drama. And to that, we say: same, same, and SAMEEEEEE 👀.
Christine has been a major part of the show for years—so much so that her rivalry with cast member Chrishell and her relationship with husband Christian Richard have been *major* storylines for the Netflix hit—, so the fact that she wasn't in season 6 at all rang major alarms for fans everywhere.
If you recall from last season, the explosive final episodes grappled with Christine facing accusations that she had attempted to bribe fellow real estate agent Emma Hernan’s client into working with her instead. Not only has Christine vehemently denied these claims, but she actually suggested the bribery storyline was completely fake soon after season 5 premiered, tweeting, “30 minutes till the launch of #SellingSunset. Enjoy the new season and all of its 5,000 fake storylines!”

Then, during season 5's subsequent reunion episode, Jason Oppenheim said, “Right now there’s not a place for [Christine] at the Oppenheim Group,” leading to speculation about her future on the show.
However!! Soon after, the celeb seemingly cleared the air after she commented on a TikTok that someone posted of the reunion and revealed it was actually her choice to leave the company, saying, “Of course there’s no place for me. I terminated my contract weeks ago prior to filming. I have my own company now lol.”
What company, you ask? A real estate venture the reality TV star began with her husband Christian called RealOpen. Around the same time as all of this ^^^ drama last spring, Christine even sat down with Forbes alongside Christian for an interview about launching the company. “Quinn, who has built an incredible real estate client list of high-net-worth individuals and celebrities, says that part of her decision to leave The Oppenheim Group (the brokerage highlighted on Selling Sunset) is because the firm wasn’t forward-leaning and wasn’t a believer in crypto,” the outlet reported.
Christine also opened up to People about how Jason was well aware of her decision to part ways with the show and real estate group, saying, “Jason knew. I told him...Him and I had had conversations a year prior. I told him I was doing my own thing. I think they thought I was bluffing; I don't think they actually thought I was working on a company, I don't know. But I told them for a year that I was working on this. Everyone knows.”
In that same interview, the celeb also touched on the accusations about her "bribing" Emma's client in *the* most Christine way possible, musing, “Accusing someone of criminal tort is not only defamatory—but you can’t afford my lawyers. So it’s not a funny thing to say. I would never bribe a client. I’ve never bribed a client. I don’t need to bribe a client, because they’ll work with me organically.”
Fast-forward to August 2022, and TMZ reported that Christine wouldn't be returning for season 6 or 7 of Selling Sunset and a source told them, “It was a mutual decision between Christine, Netflix, and the production company.”
In the time since, fans have gone on to speculate that Christine could possibly be joining yet another reality TV show: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. BRB, manifesting this iconic crossover!
