Newlyweds Pippa Middleton and James Matthews have touched down in Australia for part two of their luxe honeymoon. The thing is, being the Southern Hemisphere and all, June has marked the start of winter and is one of the coldest months of the year for our friends Down Under.

That’s why when Kate’s little sister was spotted sashaying through Sydney Harbour wearing nothing but short summer dress during single-digit temperatures, locals were both baffled and amused.

The sight of Pippa without a coat in what Aussies labelled “freezing” weather made the local headlines on Wednesday. But of course the brisk air and light rain was nothing new to the British couple.

“The only thing more painful than the death of autumn (only 183 days until summer) was seeing Pippa Middleton wearing a summer dress, unfazed by the blistering cold,” wrote an Australian news outlet. “Like, the British have to rub their cold tolerance in,” they joked.

Now, a quick disclaimer for our North American readers, when an Aussie says freezing it could mean anything from 5 to 15C — because in most Australian cities, it rarely drops below zero. In fact, the day Pippa was spotted the temperature was about 9 C.

Even so, a little nippy for bare arms, don’t you think?

The couple have since travelled North of Sydney to Darwin where they will experience toasty 30 C weather.

We’re glad to see things are heating up for the loved-up couple.
