'I got a first look at Habitat's spring/summer 2025 range — these are the items worth buying'
Habitat's new spring/summer 2025 homeware collection has arrived – and it's a delight. I had a sneak peek before it hit the shelves, and following Habitat's iconic 60th anniversary collection last year, this new seasonal range doesn't disappoint.
There’s a spotlight on natural materials (dining chairs, lampshades and side tables) with a lovely tactile quality; textiles and accessories such as vases and cushions in fresh, invigorating shades; and bold outdoor furniture to transform patios and balconies all year-round. Best of all – and in true Habitat fashion – you can expect high-quality designs at budget-friendly prices.
'This season, there's a big spotlight on versatile, small-scale, and affordable items that make a big impact in the home,' says Hannah Mallett, Habitat's director of product. 'We've extended our range of occasional furniture and refreshed our lighting collection, with a special focus on affordable, statement lighting created by our in-house designers. Our talented design and product development teams have made it easier than ever to mix and match pieces, creating thoughtful updates that suit your space and style.'
For spring/summer 2025, Habitat's collection focuses on three trend stories: Modest Luxury, Nordic Botanist, and Marvellous Memphis. Whether you want to embrace maximalism or play it safe with neutrals, there's something to suit every space and budget.
If you're looking to refresh your home this spring, here are my top picks from Habitat's new collection, which will be available online via Habitat and Argos, and in Sainsbury's stores.
Striped accessories
Bold stripes in vibrant hues are a must for spring/summer, and these bowls, jugs, and coffee cups – part of the Habitat x Sanderson & National Trust collaboration – are ideal for relaxed, sun-soaked mornings.
'Our chunky, handpainted stripe ceramics are both timeless and modern,' says Kate Gibson, Habitat's head of buying for tabletops. 'The stripe trend is here to stay and is perfect for lazy Sunday mornings, alfresco dining and nods towards traditional country values which can be layered beautifully when tablescaping with other pieces.'
Seating for small spaces
Offering an equal dose of style and practicality, bistro sets are the perfect answer to spontaneous outdoor drinks or BBQs. This vibrant set is anything but dull, and it's stackable too – perfect for easy storage come winter.
'Our new bistro sets in vibrant green, cherry red and sherbet shades are perfect for moments when additional seating or an extra surface is required,' says David Hutcheson, Habitat's senior designer.

Nordic touches
Habitat's Nordic Botanist trend serves up homeware inspired by the world's happiest countries. Expect storage baskets, candles, room sprays and artificial plants that bring the outdoors in. This low-slung Ronan chair and footstool is perfect for lazy lounging.
'Drawing inspiration from the natural world, this curated trend brings together botanical prints with Scandanivan-inspired patterns, created by our in-house design studio,' says Anna Cross, Habitat's head of buying for home.
Clever (and colourful storage)
For SS25, Habitat designers have taken a joyful approach to decorating, introducing colourful buys like bookcases, bedside tables and more as part of their Marvellous Memphis trend.
'Flexible living spaces have grown in demand as we use our homes as everchanging spaces depending on our needs and mood,' says Andrew Tanner, head of design at Habitat. 'The industrial look is back with an injection of bright hues that bring a playfulness and assertiveness to rooms whilst delivering uniquely designed storage solutions built by our in-house designer Harvey Mckeller.'

Wooden finishes
Quiet luxury is showing no sign of slowing down. With a palette of muted tones and rich textures like dark wood and marbled ceramics, Habitat's Modest Luxury trend is all about allowing the materials and finishes to speak for themselves. This Emir totum table lamp base (£50), crafted from mango wood, lives up to the quiet luxury aesthetic.
Scalloped lighting
Who doesn't love scalloped-edge designs? This pretty Yuno pleat floor lamp (£130) will turn heads with its stature and style (it's also available as a sconce).
A definite head-turner, Habitat's lighting range for 2025 is focused on practical and conversational pieces in the home, even when unlit.
Egg chairs for outdoor lounging
For gardens big or small, egg chairs remain one of the most popular pieces of outdoor furniture. With a cocoon-like silhouette and comfy cream-coloured cushions, make Habitat's £250 Selene rattan-effect egg chair top of your wishlist!
