Sometimes, a product comes along that sounds so wrong it's actually right. That's exactly what Aura Bora accomplished a few years ago when it first released its Green Bean Casserole sparkling water. And now, just in time for Thanksgiving, the brand announced that it's coming back again.

"Bursting with sweet, earthy, and buttery flavor, this sparkling water features real fresh sage extract and is like taking a bite out of a perfectly crunchy, succulent green bean," the brand explained in a statement to Food & Wine. "Bright, crisp, and unexpectedly harmonious, this just may be the drink you need to wash down a hearty Thanksgiving dinner."  It added that the drink is a "great conversation starter instead of 'why are you still single this year.'"

In 2023, Paul Voge, the CEO and co-founder of Aura Bora, revealed that the flavor actually started as a joke between employees but ended up as the real deal once they tasted the sage. "We called it green bean casserole for the disgust, for the clickbait of it," Voge told reporters.

The goal with the drink, Voge added, is to "take customers from disgust to delight as quickly as possible, and we certainly do just that. We love seeing people purchase a case just to see what the hype is all about… only to have Green Bean Casserole become some people’s favorite Aura Bora flavor."

“We love honoring the holiday flavors at Aura Bora, and Thanksgiving often gets overlooked between pumpkin season and holiday madness," Voge shared with Food & Wine. "Since turkey and gravy sparkling water should be illegal, green bean casserole felt a bit more approachable. Not surprisingly, it’s the only sippable green bean casserole."

The drink is officially back on the market on Thursday, November 7 — and it's available exclusively on Aura Bora’s website for $33/case, which includes 12 cans. And if last year's Instagram post about the flavor is any indication, you can expect these cases to sell out fast.

By the way, this is far from the only zany flavor the company offers. Right now, you can also pick up its sparkling pumpkin spice flavor, an apple cinnamon flavor in collaboration with Magnolia Bakery, or its olive oil martini flavor and really make a meal out of it. Because, well, why not? These days, anything goes.
