On Sunday, Jan. 5, the Magnolia Network co-founder, 46, shared a Reel on her Instagram as she decorated her house to celebrate her daughter Emmie's 15th birthday. Gaines could be seen getting a hand from her youngest, son Crew, 6, as they hung a silver Happy Birthday banner and decorated with pink and white balloons and flowers.

Gaines also printed out a series of sweet throwback pictures of Emmie as well as a shot of the designer pregnant with her daughter to add to the decor.

"✨✨ F I F T E E N ✨✨ She gets her drivers permit tomorrow... How is our baby girl already 15?" the mom of five wrote in her caption.

In addition to Emmie and Crew, Joanna shares her daughters Ella, 18, and Emmie, 14, and son Duke, 16, and Drew, 19, with husband Chip Gaines, 50.

This past December, Joanna showed off her oldest son's impressive Elf on the Shelf skills, sharing an Instagram Reel of her son Drake as he constructed the family Elf on the Shelf's latest mischievous surprise for his younger brother Crew.

In the video, Drake, who was home from college for the holidays, could be seen using a few stuffed animals, string and a wrapped present to make their elf, named "Elfie," look as though he's skiing off their kitchen island.

"Drake engineering one of Elfie's final stunts of the season 🎄," the proud mom captioned her post.

Also in December, Joanna spoke with PEOPLE about how her family's Christmas traditions have been evolving as more of her kids start to leave the nest.

“As they’re getting older, Christmas day looks slower than it used to," Joanna told PEOPLE.

"We stay in our pajamas all day long and someone usually pulls out a puzzle or board game that we all gather around,” she added, noting that there’s always a "competitive spirit” in their house.

Joanna continued to say that the holiday season is her favorite time of year because that means her whole family is under one roof again — which is rare now that her oldest is away at college.

“I love the holidays because I know I’m going to have all my kids home, so schedules go out the window,” she said. “We hang out, we relax, we’re a little more spontaneous. We make hot cocoa and drive around town to look at lights with Christmas music playing in the background.”

There is one thing that doesn't change, though. “It may be no surprise that most of the traditions we’ve started as a family revolve around food," she said. "The kids know that Christmas morning means mama’s cinnamon rolls and hash brown casserole.”
