Mum's 'joy' at fostering 60 children over 20 years
A woman who has fostered more than 60 children says she will continue to do so for as long as she can.
Paula Willcox and her husband Rob, from Cound, in Shropshire, had a shared passion to make a difference and thought fostering would be a way to do that. And 20 years later, they have never looked back.
"They bring so much joy," she said. "We love having our hearts and home filled with young people; no day is ever the same.
"We are very much a blended family, with me having three children, Rob having one son, and our foster children, who have also gone on to have their own families."
In 2005, the couple began fostering when their own children were all under 10 years old.
Ms Willcox said their goal was to make sure "every child feels acceptance and love".
And each one is special to her: "I remember every foster child because every one has a huge part in our heart."
"We are a fostering family and I'm proud to have all these extra kids who bring so much joy, banter and the stories I could tell, the fun we've had, the amazing times being this big family."
'So much joy'
Ms Willcox said she would often bat away odd looks from strangers who would stare at the number of children the couple had with them when they went out.
"Passport control is also challenging at times, with having many children, all with different surnames. At one point there were 12 of us," she explained.
"Rob would always be laughing and saying they must think that I had been busy," she said.
Despite driving the family in a 17-seater minibus and "hanging seven uniforms ready for a manic Monday morning", they could not imagine their lives without the children they had fostered.
"Our own children have gained siblings over the years, and my daughter, in particular, has grown close to one girl we fostered, and they present themselves as sisters."
With fostering, the couple said their lives feel complete - Ms Willcox added that for her it had never felt like a job.
"Our young people give us so much more than they know."
