Pamela Anderson looks ageless in chic black tuxedo at TIFF premiere of 'The Last Showgirl'
The 57-year-old celebrated her first leading role in decades on Day 2 of the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
Pamela Anderson is a leading lady once again. On Friday, Anderson celebrated the world premiere of her film The Last Showgirl at the Princess of Wales Theatre during the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival. The film, directed by Gia Coppola and co-starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Dave Bautista, marks Anderson's first leading role in decades.
Anderson hit the TIFF red carpet in a deconstructed tuxedo ensemble that featured a pair of high-waisted black satin trousers and oversized black satin shirt. She accessorized the look by wearing an untied bow-tie draped around her neck and a pair of black leather gloves.
The Sonsie owner kept her glam to a minimum, but added a smokey eye to an otherwise natural makeup look and opted to wear her famed blonde tresses pulled into a low ponytail.
On the red carpet, Coppola sang Anderson's praises telling reporters: “There was a gut instinct about Pamela that I was compelled by and then seeing her documentary solidified that choice and [I] knew that no one else could play this role but her. [They] wouldn’t add the same sort of meaning. I’m so grateful that she was willing to sort of dive into this experience with me and be as vulnerable as she did. Because I think that’s what makes this movie."
In the film, Anderson plays Shelley, a woman who has performed as a dancer on the Las Vegas strip for 30 years. At 50, her life is turned upside down when the show's manager announces that the show will close permanently in two weeks. Anderson's character faces uncertainty as she tries to reconnect with her daughter and navigate life away from the dance floor.
Following her turn in The Last Showgirl, Anderson is slated to hit the big screen once again — this time showing off her comedy chops. Earlier this week it was confirmed that the Baywatch alum will star opposite Liam Neeson in a remake of Naked Gun.
