If You've Been Single Basically Your Whole Life, Share With Me Your Reasons Why And How It's Affected You
Millennials and Gen Z'ers (and maybe Gen Alpha) have proven to be the generation that does not follow societal traditions like getting married.
To take things a step further, according to research, 41% of single people aren't even looking to date — let alone get married.
As a single gal, I understand why people aren't actively looking to date someone. Creating a fulfilling, happy life for yourself filled with people who fill your cup can be enough for some of us.
On that note, I'm turning to the people of the BuzzFeed Community who have chosen to be single most of their lives to tell me about it. Why did you choose this route in life? Do you regret it? Are you happy with your choice? How do you navigate it? Do you like to date to have fun but never commit to someone?
Maybe you're a child of divorced parents, and after watching what your parents went through with their failed marriage, you decided you didn't want that for yourself and stayed single.
Perhaps you have yet to find a person who makes you as happy as you make yourself, and you have zero regrets about being single.
Or maybe you never took dating seriously but are now struggling to find a partner and you regret not putting more time and effort into dating.
Whatever your singlehood journey has been like, I want to hear all about it. The good, bad, and ugly (if there is any)! Share your story with me in this anonymous form or in the comments below.
